Cardiff Castle is one of Wales’ leading heritage attractions and a site of international significance.

Being a large military facility it was only natural that the castle became the heart of the Cardiff and the City would grow and develop around it.
After the need for a large military facility eased and eventually the castle was put in the hands of the Marquis of Bute. The castle was transformed when it was in the hands of the Bute family. With lavish interiors including; murals, gilding and romantic stain glass windows.
